"Pink All Star"

"Pink All Star"
oil on board, 8x10"
SOLD
first attempt...

I wanted to paint this baby's sneaker today. Somehow it was SO hard. The first attempt was somewhat of a failure and then I started a whole new painting with different light on it that I could control better. The first one was window light and I was having trouble mixing the right shade colors. I think it is better in the final version but will have to let it go and think on it. Pink shade colors with light showing through in places was challenging.

  1. I really like the first version, Kristin. Something about the perspective just is wonderful, as though you are looking down at the shoe. In fact, I first that it was a working photograph! Then I thought you laid the painting on the floor (sigh...so we could see your angle, if that makes sense)! LOL No matter; your shoe series is wonderful and I am enjoying it immensely!

  2. I like them both, but the second one is my fave. I like the way you were able to include the entire shadow and the warm glow around the shoe. Terrific work!
