first attempt...
I wanted to paint this baby's sneaker today. Somehow it was SO hard. The first attempt was somewhat of a failure and then I started a whole new painting with different light on it that I could control better. The first one was window light and I was having trouble mixing the right shade colors. I think it is better in the final version but will have to let it go and think on it. Pink shade colors with light showing through in places was challenging.
I really like the first version, Kristin. Something about the perspective just is wonderful, as though you are looking down at the shoe. In fact, I first that it was a working photograph! Then I thought you laid the painting on the floor (sigh...so we could see your angle, if that makes sense)! LOL No matter; your shoe series is wonderful and I am enjoying it immensely!
ReplyDeleteI like them both, but the second one is my fave. I like the way you were able to include the entire shadow and the warm glow around the shoe. Terrific work!
