"Illumination"

"Illumination"
oil on board, 8x8"
$150 plus $10 shipping

In the darkness of night on the last day of this year, I thought it appropriate to paint light. My representation is a nightlight. It may be small and  yet it can be so comforting to get through to the next day, a flicker that makes us feel safe in the darkness, hope that the morning will soon be upon us. Here's to an incredible New Year and all the hope it holds.

  1. Very well done, Kristen. I've always thought you've painted light beautifully and seeing the real thing up close as with this painting, I see I was right from the outset. Lovely painting and I am reminded of Edison and Tesla for some reason...

  2. Hi Kristen,

Thanks for checking out my blog and your great comments! I love your night light piece, but i REALLY love the avocados on your banner, WOW. That blue daylight reflecting off the skin breathes, and you NAILED the texture!

I also love your comment in your bio of daily horn practice making daily painting practice natural. I am always amazed that musicians do scales and warm up before a performance, and we artists think we can walk into the studio and jump right in. You are lucky to have learned the value of discipline in your creative endeavors!

    Happy New Year!
